Friend No.1: My parents met an old fashion way. They were pen pals.
Friend No. 2: My mom and dad were pen pals, too! She said she fell in love with his letters.
Friend No. 3: Mine met in a night club in NYC after WWII was over. My dad was from down south but when the war ended, they all departed to NYC and he and all his buddies had well deserved night on the town.
Friend No. 4: My parents met at the Navy yard in San Francisco.
Friend No. 5: My parents met when mother was in nursing school and so was dad's sister.
My Story: My mom told my dad's best friend that she was going to marry him after seeing him only once. He went back to boot camp and told him...He knocked on her door and said, "Say what?" They got married.
Friend No. 6: My father was in the Marines, island-hopping against the Japanese. My mother was my father's cousin's best friend. His cousin convinced her to write to my father as pen pals. They married in 1946, right after his return.
Friend No. 7: My dad was running moonshine, when he met my mom; after a couple of drinks, he was hers!
